County of Santa Cruz

The County Parks and Recreation Commission will meet Monday, August 3 at 7:00 pm by remote teleconference. Public participation is by audio telephone conference only. Click HERE for the agenda and instructions for public participation. Agenda items include:

The County Board of Supervisors will meet Tuesday, August 4 at 9 am at the Board Chambers & Community Room, Governmental Center , 701 Ocean Street in Santa Cruz. Consent Agenda

  • Adopt ordinance amending Chapter 5.47 of the Santa Cruz County Code, delaying implementation of the mandatory charge for single-use disposable cups and making findings of exemption from CEQA (approved in concept June 30, 2020).
  • Adopt ordinance amending Chapter 7.128 of the Santa Cruz County Code, relating to non-retail commercial cannabis regulations outside of the coastal zone (approved in concept June 30, 2020).
  • Schedule a jurisdictional hearing on Tuesday, September 15, 2020, beginning at 9:00 a.m. or thereafter to consider whether to take jurisdiction of an appeal regarding Planning Commission decision on Application 181024, a proposal for demolition and replacement of an existing dwelling on property located at 379 Beach Drive in Aptos.

Land Use & Community Services

  • Defer to August 18, 2020, consideration of proposed ordinance amending Santa Cruz County Code section 13.10.694 Vacation Rentals, and use charts within sections 13.10.312, 13.10.322, 13.10.352 and 13.10.372 to implement amendments to 13.10.694 (proposed amendments in the Coastal Zone require review and certification by the California Coastal Commission), as recommended by the Planning Director.
  • Schedule a public hearing on Tuesday, August 18, 2020, beginning at 9:00 AM or thereafter, to consider amendments to various sections of Chapter 13.10 of the Santa Cruz County Code (Local Coastal Program Implementing Ordinance) and CEQA Notice of Exemption regarding Temporary Uses and Structures, Accessory Structures, Home Occupations, and Hosted Rentals; and take related actions, as recommended by the Planning Director.
  • Schedule a public hearing on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at 9:00 a.m. or thereafter, to consider application 28381, a proposal to rezone three contiguous parcels totaling approximately 60 acres from the Special Use (SU) zone district to Timber Production (TP) on parcels located approximately one mile south of the intersection of Buzzard Lagoon Road and Summit Road in the Summit Planning area, as recommended by the Planning Director.

Regular Agenda

  • Public hearing to consider proposed easement by condemnation (APN 041-081- 18, 041-081-19, 041-081-20, 041-081-21) to support the Valencia Road 2017 Storm Damage Repair project, and adopt Resolution of Necessity authorizing County Counsel to institute eminent domain proceedings to obtain possession of the required real property interests, as outlined in the memorandum of the Deputy CAO/Director of Public Works.
  • Consider resolution issuing Emergency Regulation No. 2020-01 to temporarily suspend single-use bag charges in the unincorporated area of Santa Cruz County, as outlined in the memorandum of the County Administrative Officer.

  • Public Hearing de novo to consider Application No. 181556, a proposal to construct a small parking lot and restroom improvements and to operate a business that would allow clients to spread cremated remains at selected trees and to visit by appointment, within a property zoned for Timber Production (TP) and Special Use (SU) in the Eureka Canyon area (Assessor’s Parcel Number 106-291- 16) under a Less Than Three-Acre Timber Conversion Exemption, and confirm the project is exempt from requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act, as outlined in the memorandum of the Planning Director.

City of Santa Cruz

The SC City Parks & Recreation Commission will meet Monday, August 3 at 4:00 pm by Zoom teleconference. Click HERE for the agenda and instructions for public participation. Agenda items include:

  • Parks Master Plan 2030 and Environmental Impact Report – The Parks & Recreation Commission recommend City Council adopt the following resolutions: (1) a resolution certifying the Final Environmental Impact Report (Attachment 1); (2) a resolution including Findings of Fact and a Mitigation Monitoring and Reporting Program (Attachment 2); and (3) a resolution approving the Parks Master Plan 2030 (Attachment 3).

The SC City Zoning Administrator will meet Wednesday, August 5 at 10:00 am by remote teleconference. Public participation is by audio telephone conference only. Click HERE for the agenda and instructions for public participation. Agenda items include:

  • Beekeeping on Residential and Non-Residential Property Citywide – Amendment of Municipal Code Section 24.12.650 relating to keeping of honeybees on residential and non-residential property. The Amendment will facilitate the creation of apiaries for honeybees in the City without the need to acquire a permit provided beehives comply with proposed standards. CEQA: Exempt
  • Amendments to the City of Santa Cruz Municipal Code to Exempt Electric Vehicle Charging Stations from Historic Alteration Permits and to Revise the Variations to District Regulations Allowed as Incentives for Historic Properties.
  • Code Amendments to Parking for Residential and Nonresidential Land Uses-Citywide.
  • Code Amendments to Comply with State Law, Remove Obsolete Sections,  and Streamline Planning Application Process.

  • 418 and 428 Front StreetNonresidential Demolition Authorization Permit to demolish two historic commercial buildings to facilitate the construction of a seven-story, mixed-use building with 175 residential condos and 11,498 square feet of ground floor and levee front commercial space on property located within the CBD/CZ-O/FP-O (Central Business District/Coastal Zone Overlay/Floodplain Overlay) zone district and within the Front Street/Riverfront area of the Downtown Plan.

 

City of Scotts Valley
